Refund policy
Perishable food — no returns
Kombucha is a perishable, unpasteurized food. For food-safety reasons we cannot accept returns of kombucha, and delivered bottles cannot be resold.
If something is wrong with your delivery
If your kombucha arrives damaged, leaking, spoiled or incorrect, email support@dryspellfoods.com within 48 hours of delivery with your order number and a photo where possible. We will replace the affected bottles on your next delivery or refund them, at your choice. We would rather hear about a problem than have you drink something you're unhappy with.
Glass bottle deposit
Your first standing-order purchase includes a one-time refundable glass bottle deposit: $25 for six bottles, $45 for twelve. It is charged once, not on renewals.
The deposit is refunded in full when you cancel your standing order and return all bottles in your possession in usable condition. Bottles that are not returned, or are returned unusable, are deducted from the refund at cost.
"Usable condition" means: intact glass with no chips or cracks, swing-top closure and rubber gasket present, and free of any non-kombucha residue. Normal wear, cloudiness and label wear are fine — we expect bottles to look used.
If bottles aren't returned
We'll let you know when bottles haven't come back. There's no penalty for falling behind — leave extra bottles out at any future delivery to bring your account back to good standing.
If the number of unreturned bottles exceeds your set, your deposit is applied to cover that glass and a new deposit is added to your next order so your bottles stay covered. This isn't a fee; the deposit covers glass we can't recover, and you get it back the same way as always when you cancel.
To return bottles at cancellation, leave them out for collection on your final scheduled delivery day, or arrange a pickup with us within 30 days. Deposits are refunded to your original payment method within 10 business days of collection.
Cancelling your standing order
You may cancel at any time from your standing order page, with no cancellation fee. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current paid period — you receive any delivery already paid for.
Because each batch is brewed to order, we cannot refund a charge once that delivery has entered production. If you cancel before your next charge, you will not be charged again.
Pausing and skipping
You can pause your standing order or skip an upcoming delivery from your standing order page at any time. If you're falling behind on bottles, pausing is usually better than cancelling.
